DJ Svoger – The Friday Track – Week 4

rr-logoIIDJ Svoger has decided that today is Disco-Friday. And we can’t think of a better way to celebrate this than to feature a true disco-classic in a new wrapping. This week we give to you the West London-based duo Ruben & Ra, that on their Retrospective EP came up with the concept of selecting their favorite stateside disco cuts from between 1980 and 1985 and reworking them into 4 entirely new tracks. This one pays tribute to Daytons “Sound of Music”, a track that yours truly has treasured ever since Street Sounds 9 that came out in 1984.

Listen to Ruben & Ra’s version here (by the way with Free download) …

Check out the original track in this epic performance …

… like the sound of that!

DJ Svoger – The Friday Track – Week 3

mos26_02_11-43%20-%20mark%20knight_1290_blogImage_jpg_lIt’s been a fantastic week here at DJ Svoger… more than 1000 new Likes and a lot of new friends. In the meantime we have worked hard all week – first to give you the “8000 Likes Mixtape”, while we are working on The February Mixtape Selection and a “secret” treat, when we hopefully soon will pass the magical 10.000 Likes on Facebook. So this week have really been packed with so much new music and many great tracks, that picking “The Friday Track” should be easy, right… but it was just the opposite.

We have chosen “Thinking”, a catchy house track first to be released on 28th January, from the Leeds based band; Submotion Orchestra – and remixed by no less, than the funky Mark Knight, who had great succes in 2012 with a remix of Florence and the Machine’s “You Got The Love”. “Thinking” is the first Mark Knight thing of 2013 and it have that funky friday vibe to it and we hope that you’ll agree…

Play hard and party loud!!!

DJ Svoger The Friday Track – Week 1

There is something special about the first weekend of the year… after weeks of partying hard, you just might want to use this weekend to gather your strength, kick back and just listen to some great music.

Every friday last year, we posted a Friday Track on DJ Svoger and we have decided to continue doing this in 2013, so please stop by at least every friday throughout the year, to catch some musical inspiration for the weekend. We will do our best to keep you dancing…

If that sounds tempting, you’re in for a treat – because the first friday track of the year is a truly bomb. A great combination of Blue Satellite and Jhameel and with the perfect edit from the young Russian Cosmonaut  Grechko. This just might not be breaking news to some of you, but it is still one of the best kept secrets of late last year. Enjoy;

Have a very wonderful first weekend of the year, hang loose and thanks for your support!

Bearhug from DJ Svoger!
